Where can Bed Bugs be found?
Homes
Bed bugs can enter a home in several different ways. Bed bugs can be on furniture, mattresses, luggage, and even clothing. As you can see it is almost impossible to completely guard against these hitchhikers. But trying to limit the possibilities is one of your best defense. If you travel or have a college student coming home frequently then you may want to look into regular inspections.
Hotels
Hotels are high on the list for someone to pick up bed bugs. Unfortunately bed bugs do not discriminate which hotels they infest. If you travel you will want to inspect the hotel room before bringing in your luggage. Bed bugs can be found on the mattress or box spring, headboards, bed frame, night stands, and even behind picture frames.
Apartments
If you live or plan on living in an apartment you will want to get familiar with identifying bed bugs. Bed bugs can be found in cracks and crevices so an apartment may look good on the surface but bed bugs may not be visible. Having a thorough inspection done before you move in may save you hundreds of dollars after you move your things in.
